US-based Thermador is a subsidiary of BSH Home Appliances Corporation. They manufacture freezers, fridges, dishwashers, ranges/stoves, wall ovens, cook tops, steam and convection ovens, as well as ventilation systems. Most models are built-in, however they do produce some freestanding units.
On par with other premium domestic kitchen appliances patterned after commercial models, Thermador boasts several claims to fame. They created the first self-cleaning oven in 1963 and the first smooth cooktop in 1970.
