Gord Haines, owner of Gord’s Appliances, was one of those kids that always seemed to be tinkering with machines and motors. He was forever taking things apart and putting them back together trying to figure out how they worked. The fact that he became a journeyman appliance technician is no surprise to those who knew him growing up. This isn’t just a job to Gord; it’s something of a calling. He takes pride in keeping current with the industry, repairing appliances, taking care of customers’ homes and treating them with respect. And he is willing to tackle messy and complicated jobs that other technicians prefer not to touch.
“I really enjoy my job because I get to be challenged everyday with new problems to solve and new and evolving technologies to learn. I get to help people which is very gratifying.”
With more than 25 years of experience working on all makes and models of home appliances, Gord is reliable and efficient. He trains any technician working under him to be in good communication with customers, to protect homes by using soft-sided, canvas tool boxes and to leave outside footwear at the door. To Gord, customer service means doing what he says he is going to do, when he says he will do it, and getting the job done right the first time.
